RENEWALS

Renewal Time? It's Worth Taking a Second Look.

When your mortgage comes up for renewal, it can be tempting to simply sign the offer from your current lender and move on. While that may be the right choice, it's often worth taking a few minutes to review your options first.

A lot can change over the course of a mortgage term - interest rates, financial goals, family needs, and even the mortgage products available in the market.

WHY YOUR RENEWAL MATTERS

For most homeowners, a mortgage renewal is one of the largest financial decisions they'll make every few years.

It's an opportunity to:

  • Review your current mortgage
  • Compare rates and mortgage features
  • Adjust your payment strategy
  • Access home equity if needed
  • Make sure your mortgage still aligns with your goals

MORE THAN JUST THE RATE

While interest rate is important, it's not the only factor to consider.

Prepayment privileges, penalties, flexibility, portability, and future plans can all play a role in determining which mortgage is the best fit.

Sometimes the lowest rate isn't necessarily the best overall option.

WHEN SHOULD YOU START REVIEWING?

Most lenders will send renewal offers several months before your mortgage maturity date.

Starting the conversation early gives you time to understand your options and make an informed decision without feeling rushed.

HOW I CAN HELP

Whether you decide to stay with your current lender or explore alternatives, my role is to help you understand your options and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Sometimes a quick review confirms that your current mortgage is still the best fit. Other times, there may be opportunities worth considering.

THINKING ABOUT RENEWING?

If your mortgage is coming up for renewal in the next few months, I'd be happy to help you review your options and make sure you're comfortable with your next term.
